Assumptions
What this tool assumes.
- Part legality, safety, inspection, vendor, and school purchasing requirements must be checked outside SciPacket.
- Already-owned quantities reduce purchase quantities but do not confirm usable condition or rule compliance.
- Tax and shipping are planning estimates, not vendor quotes.
- Do not enter vendor account credentials, payment details, student data, or official rule text.
The math
How the numbers are figured.
- Purchase quantity = quantity needed - quantity already owned, clamped at zero.
- Line subtotal = purchase quantity times unit cost.
- Line total = line subtotal + shipping + estimated tax.
- Estimated tax = line subtotal times tax rate percent.
- Contingency amount = total before contingency times contingency percent.
- Total with contingency = total before contingency + contingency amount.
- Required cost sums rows whose priority includes `required`.
